Ethical dilemma – Steps for Social Workers

Don’t you hate that feeling in your gut when your not sure what to do??  Any probable decision seems like a dead end…you’re stuck between a rock and a hard place!

When social worker’s face an ethical decision we rush for NASW Code of Ethics.  In 2008 the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) developed a training curriculum that describes decision making through 14 sequential steps.  In this video I share each step and even answer the age old question- should you “friend” a client on social media?  Hope this video helps in any and all ethical dilemmas in social work.  As mentioned in the video – I listed all steps and the social work values in a printable PDF… click for the link or pin from here!!  We all have that social work board, here’s mine!
